Currently much of this exhaust is simply discharged unused to the exterior However Kunert Wellpappe is investing a six figure sum in a highly efficient and high performance exhaust system equipped with a high quality filtering system This exhaust system is capable of a volume flow rate of 100 000 m and can also recover heat energy and return it to the production hall The first part of the new exhaust system will go into operation in the second quarter of 2023 By putting its industrial waste heat to good use the Kunert Group is taking another big step towards sustainability Such large investments in state of the art energy efficient technology in every area of produc tion make all the clearer the company s com mitment to acting in a responsible manner LED LIGHTING AT THE KUNERT GROUP Lighting systems can be made greatly more efficient by the use of LEDs The benefits of this key technology for a green future do not only include the quality of their lighting but also their high energy efficiency long operating life and environment friendliness The low power consumption of LED technol ogy results in a reduction of CO2 emissions by as much as 70 In the production halls of Kunert Wellpappe in Biebesheim Germany approximately 300 fluorescent tubes were replaced with LED lighting Due to the higher illuminating power of the LED replacements the number of lights was reduced to 210 The necessary power usage was reduced by 35 The new building at Kunert Wellpappe in Bad Neustadt was equipped with LED lighting from the start while the replacement of the lighting in the other production halls is on the to do list These are just two examples of the numerous activities within the Kunert Group 23
